Poole, Dorset – 23/05/25 – In a heartwarming twist at this year’s Poole Business Awards, Poole BID was named the winner of the very award it proudly sponsored—the High Street Impact Award—a category celebrating those transforming our town centres into vibrant, resilient, and welcoming spaces.
The award, presented on Thursday 22nd May is designed to honour businesses, teams, and individuals driving positive change on the high street. It recognises those fostering innovation, pride, and community strength across Poole—values central to Poole BID’s mission since its inception nearly a decade ago.
Poole BID Communications & Operations Manager, Wendy King was set to present the award, only to be left speechless as she read the winner’s name—Poole BID itself.
“We had no idea we were even being considered,” said Wendy. “We are not able to nominate ourselves, so to find out we’d been recognised by our peers and the community in this way was deeply moving. It’s a true testament to the hard work and passion of our entire team.”
Nigel Reeve, founder of Marketing West and organiser of the Poole Business Awards, commented: “Marketing West runs business awards in towns across Dorset, and this is only the second time we’ve ever seen a sponsor announced as the winner of their own category. It’s a rare moment—but absolutely deserved. Poole BID’s contribution to the high street has been exceptional.”

Poole BID’s win capped off an incredible afternoon for the BID district, with many of their local businesses securing both gold and silver awards across multiple categories—highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit and community pride alive in Poole town today.
