Poole, Dorset – The much-loved Folk on the Quay festival is set to return to Poole Quay on Saturday 21st June 2025, bringing with it a vibrant day of live music, family fun, and community celebration right at the heart of the historic quayside.

This free, open-air festival will see multiple areas of traditional and contemporary folk music, lively Morris dancing, street performers, food stalls, and entertainment for all ages – all against the stunning backdrop of Poole Harbour.

Now in its latest chapter, Folk on the Quay is delivered by Poole Quay Events, a local events company launched in 2024 by experienced hospitality professionals Anna Doyle (formerly of the Lord Nelson pub) and Michelle Smith (Poole Arms), who are both passionate about championing Poole’s waterfront and community.

“We’re thrilled to bring Folk on the Quay back for 2025,” said Anna Doyle, co-organiser of Poole Quay Events. “It’s a celebration of everything that makes Poole special – music, community, and our beautiful quayside. We’ve curated a fantastic line-up that we can’t wait to share with everyone.”

Michelle Smith added: “This event is about more than music – it’s about bringing people together and supporting our local businesses and artists. It’s a day for the whole community to enjoy.”

Poole BID is proudly backing this year’s event as headline sponsor, helping to ensure the festival remains free to attend and widely accessible.

Jacqui Rock, CEO of Poole BID, said: “Folk on the Quay is one of Poole’s most cherished events, and we’re delighted to support it as headline sponsor. It brings thousands of visitors into the town, boosts local trade, and strengthens our cultural identity. Supporting initiatives like this is exactly what Poole BID is here to do.”

With a full day of festivities planned, including Morris Dancing, Children’s Fun Fair Rides and Games Stalls and a handpicked roster of folk acts from around the UK, Folk on the Quay 2025 is shaping up to be a major highlight of the summer events calendar.
