Breakfast with Poole BID is a monthly networking event designed to bring together local businesses and levy payers to discuss current and relevant topics impacting the community. Hosted by Barclays Eagle Labs, these sessions provide an opportunity for participants to engage with one another, share insights, and stay updated on key initiatives.
This month, the event which takes place at The Foundry in the Dolphin Centre, Poole, a newly developed workspace on Thursday 26th September from 8am, will focus on the introduction and discussion of the new incident reporting system SentrySIS. Introduced by Poole BID to the town, this system is a major step in enhancing local safety and security and the information will be presented by Jack Ferns from UK Partners Against Crime (UKPAC) Poole BID’s delivery partner.
Jacqui Rock, Poole BID Lead commented: “SentrySIS is a digital incident management and reporting system designed to help local businesses and organisations effectively track, report, and manage crime and anti-social behaviour in real time. Developed with the aim of improving public safety and security, SentrySIS is currently used by us (in collaboration with Coastal BID and Town Centre BID in Bournemouth) Dorset Police, the Police Crime Commissioner, BCP council, and crime partnerships across the conurbation. However, any BCP business outside the BID districts can join the Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) for a small monthly fee by visiting www.againstbusinesscrime.co.uk.
Businesses or individuals can report incidents (e.g., theft, vandalism, suspicious activity) through an easy-to-use online platform or mobile app.
The system allows the submission of detailed reports, including descriptions, times, dates, and even photos or videos of the incident.
Real-Time Alerts:
When an incident is reported, it can trigger real-time alerts to other local businesses, law enforcement agencies, or relevant partners. This creates an immediate, collaborative response to emerging threats or issues.
Database Management:
SentrySIS maintains a centralised database of all reports, which allows organisations to track patterns, identify repeat offenders, and analyse crime trends over time.
Collaborative Tools:
Users, including businesses and Police, can share intelligence and communicate through the platform to coordinate responses, such as detaining suspects or improving surveillance in areas prone to incidents.
Integration with Dorset Police:
SentrySIS is designed to integrate seamlessly with police databases, enabling quicker investigations and improving the flow of information between businesses and Dorset Police.
Data Security:
The system ensures that all data is securely stored and managed in compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws.
Attendees can expect to learn how SentrySIS can streamline crime reporting, improve communication, coordination and collaboration between businesses and improve efficiency when dealing with crime to contribute to a safer environment in Poole and the wider community. This event is an excellent opportunity for businesses to stay connected and informed.
